This collection unveils a new chapter for the brand as we are starting off with our second physical shop at Isetan Tampines. The “Work Wear Collection” continues our effort to Work & Play from our day 1. Simplicity has been our creed, details as usual hidden in our engineered cuts and little embellishment on the classics.
The second tranche of WorkWear sets in the background of the 1982 movie “ Blade Runner” which is set in 2019. In 1982, the movie was a sci-fi movie, in retrospect, is not too far off from now. That got us thinking, are the fashion predictions accurate? For one, they got the tonal black sneakers correct (which a all black adidas stan smith), who would’ve thought a pair of stan smith could stand that much of a time ?
The retro-future look in the movie inspired our next WorkWear collection. First, we deployed tactical colours generously -in shades of earth eg. black, army, khaki, leafy camel and a palette of greys. Secondly, the silhouettes we engineered are wider, allowing but tailored and shaped, enabling a normcore-look in the movie but more sartorial. The third element is sneakers-centric apparels that allow tonal sneakers to be focus of the outfit. The collection encourage an earthy tonal look, marl on marl, grey on grey etc to complete the retro-future look. That will be clearly visible in our next lookbook.
Slim and skinny fits are in prevalence and norm on the streets now, however, the new collection distracts you with comfort to welcome the breezy spring and the hot summer. The collection offers differences and choices with widened and bigger volume pants and tees, with length are kept intact for to retain that dapper flair and looking sharp.
In this collection, we focus on a new fit, we’d like to call the ” Reformed Miner’s Fit“, which we studied the classic miner’s pants which is basically loose in every measurement,but re-engineered the long drop crotch to a mid crotch, left the comfort in the thighs , tapered the knees and bottom , and turned it out a sartorial outlined comfort tapered fit, which we’d preferred it to worn cropped or rolled-up.
To celebrate and express that italian sartorial inspiration lurking with the design team , we have added a very small capsule of “ARC collection“. This is the extension of SparrowGreen’s preppy streetwear, a progression into a more gentlemanly preppy workwear, however, it’ll still be able to blend in with our other apparels in a mellowed iteration, for Work & Play.
